Early days of Spring and a nice surprise at the farmers market were the Osu Blue Tomatoes. (the ones on the far right)
They have a jet-black color that is a bit shocking at first. Never seen them before in Cyprus. The farmer, Mr. Grigoris, a 70-year old man full of happiness, explained that he had planted the seeds of this rare variety and to his pleasant surprise the result was ‘as promised’!
Simply excellent, nice soft and meaty texture that resembles the taste of fruits. I bought some and will do a salad of them!
