Preheat the oven to 135 degrees C, air circulation, rack in the centre of the oven.
Place the ribs in a roasting baking dish with the meat side up and season with the salt and pepper.
Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 2 1/2 hours.
Increase the oven temperature to maximum, turning on the grill (broiler) and remove the dish from the oven. Uncover and brush both sides of the ribs with the BBQ sauce.
Place the grill rack on the second highest level and broil for 3-4 minutes, then take out of the oven, turn and toss and broil for 3 more minutes. You want the sauce to caramelize.
